When is Comcast Light Up Night®?
Comcast Light Up Night® will be held on Friday, November 22, 2019, and is always the Friday before Thanksgiving. Most events take place between 4:30 and 10:00 p.m., although there are certain activities that may be opening prior to that time.
This year is the 59th Annual Comcast Light Up Night® celebration, and it’s a beloved tradition for thousands of families that kicks off the holiday festivities in Pittsburgh with free music, entertaining activities, fireworks, food, and more.
What’s happening at this year’s Comcast Light Up Night®?

But, expect your favorite holiday traditions to return, including the BNY Mellon Fireworks finale by Zambelli, free concerts, official tree lightings, delicious food, magic, and the perfect way to get in the holiday spirit.
When is this year’s Peoples Gas Holiday Market™?
The Peoples Gas Holiday Market™ returns to Market Square on Comcast Light Up Night®, Friday, November 22, and runs daily through Monday, December 23 (closed on Thanksgiving). Vendors, entertainment, and full details will be available in early November.

Are tickets required?
Nope! Comcast Light Up Night® is free to attend. Enjoy concerts with critically acclaimed entertainers, a dazzling fireworks display, official tree lighting ceremonies, activities for the whole family, and holiday shopping.
Special events, like ice skating at the PPG Place MassMutual Ice Rink, plus food and gift vendors, do require a purchase or tickets.
Plus, a VIP Light Up Night® Experience is available! Tickets for BLAST! will be available soon.
How can I celebrate all season long?
Check back in early November for details on the complete holiday season in Downtown Pittsburgh, which includes the Peoples Gas Holiday Market™, Holiday KidsPlay, and more all through December.
Where should I eat and drink?
Numerous food trucks and vendors will be located around the festival, but visit DowntownPittsburgh.com/Dine for a complete list of Downtown restaurants and bars ranging from full-service dinners to places to grab a quick bite to refresh.
I’m interested in being a vendor for the holidays. How can I apply?
Applications are currently being accepted as space allows on a rolling basis for food trucks and vendors for Comcast Light Up Night®. Learn more and apply here.

Where should I stay if I’m coming into town?
There are tons of hotels throughout the Golden Triangle, putting you steps from the holiday excitement no matter where you stay. Visit DowntownPittsburgh.com for a listing of all Downtown hotels and accommodations.
What about parking and getting around?
We recommend using public transit when possible to make your commute a breeze. Plan your public transit trip at PortAuthority.org. Over 80 routes pass through Downtown, meaning there’s likely a bus or light rail stop near you.
But, if you are driving, park towards the edges of Downtown to make arriving and exiting easier on your group. Check ParkPGH.org for real-time parking garage availability, and rest assured that Downtown is one of the most walkable neighborhoods in the city.
Recommended parking locations include the Grant Street Transportation Center, as well as options on the North Shore which include free light rail rides into Downtown.
