To celebrate the Grand Opening of the Peoples Gas Holiday Market in Market Square on Nov. 17, head Downtown for a rousing holiday karaoke open mic show where everyone is a guaranteed winner! Participants will draw a prize from a restaurant gift card grab bag worth up to $500.

Rules & Fine Print

All rules are subject to change. Accepted teams will be notified of any changes before the tournament begins.

  • Merry Karaoke will be held rain or shine. The stage is covered and heated. Microphones will be provided and song lyrics will be presented on screen.

  • Songs must be chosen from the provided list, linked above.

  • Participants must check in at the information booth in the center of Market Square 20 minutes prior to the hour they registered and were approved for on Friday, November 17.

    • Upon check-in, participants will be assigned an exact time slot to perform.

  • Each participant who sings will receive a random gift card to popular Downtown restaurant ranging from $10 - $500 after the performance is finished.

    • Gift cards are limited to ONE gift card per performance (1 drawing per song, even if it is a group performance).

  • Space may be limited, registration does not guarantee a performance slot. Registrants will be notified by email if they are accepted for their requested time slot.

    • Walk-ups will be considered if there is time available. 

  • Singers who fail to check in on time may lose their spot and it will be offered to another available contestant.

  • By registering, you are committing to participate on November 17th during the specified hour, between 5:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

  • By registering, you consent to having your photo taken and to have your performance videotaped, shared online or via social media. The Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership reserves the right to use all names, photos, video, music and information acquired during the performance in any promotional materials.

  • Participants must use family-friendly language at all times on stage, and may not engage in any confrontational, unsportsmanlike, belligerent, or inappropriate behavior or communications with Market staff, audience members, or other performers. Any violations of this policy, as determined solely by an official representative of the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership, will result in immediate, permanent disqualification of a participant.

  • Failure to comply with all rules and regulations may result in disqualification and forfeit of the gift card prize.
